Solution focused therapy

Solution focused brief therapy is often referred to as solution focused therapy. It is a talking therapy that focuses the client on what he/she wants to achieve through therapy rather than focusing on the problem that was brought to therapy. This is done by asking solution focused questions that enable the client to focus on the present and on the future. This is done with respectful curiosity to help clients develop a picture of their preferred future. The therapy then moves on to enable the client to start making small, appropriate moves towards their goals.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

It is a structured approach that addresses past, present and future disturbing memories, images and sensations. EMDR was initially developed to resolve Post Traumatic Stress Disorder resulting from exposure to traumatic events such as war or rape.
